Botolan is still recovering from a flood that made many families
homeless in August 2009.
Even though family members try to help each other and even
though the schools will lend a hand and even though other families
try to assist, it is not easy to keep children attending school. It
is not easy to provide the resources they need.
No matter how hard some families try, it will be difficult for
them to provide their children the school fees, the lunch money,
the cost of school trips, shoes, clothes or the supplies they need.
There are just not enough resources to take care of all of the
children. Parents often use pawn brokers to support their
children meet their school needs.
There is no better cause than to give schools and parents the
satisfaction of helping children achieve their dreams. That is what
Books for Botolan is all about. We can make make sure that the
children of Botolan today can support their own children in the
